It was special to spend time greenlighting with the Founder of Starfish Malawi a few years back. Chris was in the early stages of setting up this excellent project. Things have really developed and expanded well over the past few years.
The project has worked alongside local communities in Malawi to assist them in developing a quality life through education projects for the children. Schools in the UK have responded well to partnering with schools in Malawi and quality exhange visits have taken place.
“We cannot change the world immediately, but we can make a difference…….
one life at a time.” — Chris Knott (Founder & Chairman)
Starfish currently link 45 schools in the UK with Malawi through educational partnerships to develop global citizenship for children in both countries. Please follow this link to Starfishers to find out more.
Secondary education in Malawi is very expensive, but for only £15 each month a child can be supported through secondary school and look forward to a better future. At the moment Starfish Malawi have over 120 sponsored students on the programme.
Glad Tidings Orphan Care (GTOC) is a community based organisation which aims to empower vulnerable children. The centre provides health, nursery education and safeguarding services for over 240 children alongside a number of other community development projects.
A large amount of donated materials are sent to Malawi in a container twice a year. Every arrival is met with great expectation, and always very gratefully received by many of our projects and linked schools.
