A UK county library was searching for good quality language-teaching videos for young people. Through my network of contacts, I was aware of a video company in the area that was producing quality commercial programmes for national TV.
Another source was that of an association of teachers some of whom would be unemployed at that time. Among the unemployed teachers, it would be almost certain one could find some with skills and experience in teaching various European languages. Matching these two, I could see the potential for this need to be met. A keen teacher could ably coordinate the filming of suitable programmes in conjunction with the video company who had the technical expertise required. These links were left in the good hands of the chief librarian for consideration and processing as felt appropriate.
