There is a rich variety of retirement properties and locations throughout the UK. One you might like to visit is a small independent retirement complex in the south of the UK. The rural village setting and the compact family-like atmosphere make it a very pleasant venue in which to settle down after a busy lifestyle over several decades. Such places are indeed oases of refreshment.
It’s a good idea for those considering their retirement in the near future to explore potential possibilities and thus capture a feel for what could be their preferred location. I really believe the realistic and practical assessment of what is out there, as options, before actually needing such a facility is a route well worth taking.
Having been able to assess such a location from the inside over the past 10 years while still not “technically” retired, I found it extremely helpful. For me, I believe the small, independent cottages or appartments based on a managed site are the way to go. This gives independence within a framework of security without the more communal type atmosphere which is right for many.
