An incredible example of patience, which I experienced some decades ago, was shown by a youngster in a Shaftesbury Home. I had taken my junior class to visit the home to see the challenges that some of the youngsters faced.
This special youngster had little control over his arms which seemed to dance to their own music. He proudly showed me a story which he had written. It was amazing.
How did he achieve this feat? A mini-manuscript. He had to hold a stick in one hand which hovered over a frame fixed to his typewriter, with holes over each letter. Once he had the stick in the right hole, he would bang it firmly and thus one letter was printed.
He repeated this time after time until the story was complete. Tremendous patience and determination for sure. An experience of a lifetime. An incredible example of patience.
