Practical Generosity
Recently, I have discovered two creative ways in which to be generous with my computer-time.
The Hunger Site has a click and donate programme which is seeking to address the whole issue of poverty internationally. You receive a daily reminder-email and take a few generous moments to click on the designated icons to enable sponsers to donate food. There is also one for donating books for literacy programmes. This only takes a few moments - such practical generosity can make a difference in individuals lives and thus their communties also.

The second option is open-ended. It is on a website called Free Rice. You can take part in word recognition games etc all of which enable food to be donated. You can spend as much time as you like improving your vocabulary while enjoying a digital break and at the same time being generous in a practical way. There are other categories such as capitals of the world; languages and mathematics. The choice is yours. It is part of the UN's wide range of services.

Welcome to Global Handicrafts
Fair Trade Fortnight
It's time to feel the love! Hong Kong's Fair Trade Fortnight is nearly upon us, running from 11th – 27th March, 2011, and this year the theme is "Love Fairness, Support Fair Trade."
Here at Global Handicrafts, we are loving the events lined up for Fair Trade Fortnight, which include an opening ceremony with singers and celebrities (including Crossroads' own Helen Mottee), a 3-day Fair Trade fair, and a Fair Trade stamp collection scheme.
