Generous Advice
He has even offered to ask his daughter to auction an original painting of Concorde by a local author, which I have received for an international flying charity. She would auction it on E-bay for me. Thus from a simple enquiry about a picture frame came other interesting stories and a new friendship in the business world.
What attracted my attention initially was a notice board advertsing Cottage Framers, Jim's business, on the High Street in Wincanton. I followed the intriguing directions and entered the small office tucked away in the corner of a large older building. Instantly, Jim emerged from his workshop and the conversation commenced. The office-cum-small display centre was more like a small corridor. It was well fitted out with the essentials including a computer skillfully and artistically woven into the fabric of the room. Very creative.
Such intiative and wise use of space without all the marketing frills so much felt to be needed, always intrigues me - in fact inspires me. Such back-street businesses deserve to be complimented and patronised.
Should you live in the UK and need framing then Jim's place would be worth checking out. You can contact him on:
