Incredible Voyage
Jessica crossed the official finish line at 1.53pm and was greeted by her excited parents, Julie and Roger. There was a flotilla of well-wishers, support crew and other spectator boats that joined Jessica as she made her way through the harbour.
Jessica was supported by Jesse Martin and Mike Perham whom had jumped aboard to take control of Ella‟s Pink Lady, this allowed Jessica to
prepare herself for the intense welcoming that she was about to receive.
Some facts about Jessica Watson's incredible voyage:
• Solo, non-stop, and unassisted around the
world. Via Cape Horn
• 23,000 nautical mile journey
• 210 days at Sea
• Extreme conditions in the Southern Ocean with
wind gusts of up to 50 knots, 12-metre swells
and six knockdowns.
• Jessica was 16 years, 362 days old when she
completed her epic voyage.
