The Bivouac ~ Creative holidays in the countryside
We are 'The Bivouac'! Two families with a common interest; a belief that a Holiday can be luxurious and yet sustainable, both family orientated and adventurous. We want you to be 'The Bivouac' too, to join us in finding and creating our first perfect Bivouac site in Yorkshire. Please have a look around this website, let us know your thoughts, leave a comment or two and before you know it we'll all be sitting around a cosy fire-pit together in the great Yorkshire countryside drinking mugs of tea.
Let me tell you about what we're planning…
The Bivouac serves the community; doors are open all day, with facilities for children, families and groups. Where possible, food is organic and locally sourced. Everybody's welcome; the space is sensitive to the needs of the elderly and less able bodied.
The accommodation is rustic, rugged, characterful and sensitive to woodland and natural surroundings; inspired by the sheep sheering shacks of New Zealand and the woodland shelters of ancient Britain. It is luxury, with attention to detail, warmth and comfort.
