Club 52

Innovative ideas for generating funds for charities are constantly in demand and much appreciated by those organising the financial management of such projects. One possible concept is to form a Club 52.

The members of this club would be keen to assist their chosen charity or would be encouraged to consider such a course by friends or family. The basic idea is to find 100 individuals willing to donate £1 a week (or similar basic monetary unit in other countries).

Simple maths will reveal an annual income of £5,200 for the chosen charity. This is an encouraging start. The next stage is to encourage each of these faithful Club 52 members to recruit 9 more friends from among their families and work associates. The funding then increases dramatically to £52,000 in one year. So much valuable community enhancement could be achieved with such generous funds.

Of course, if this growth rate continues then many people will have their lives transformed as well as their communities through wise use of the funding for sustainable community-based projects locally and internationally.

The concept could be launched at company level also and the amounts generated would greatly increase as each company would probably donate £100 a week.  A launch dinner could be organised to promote the charity and the specific Club 52 concept. In essence the idea, is simple and manageable. Donors appreciate having goals to reach. These give a sense of challenge.

If you have tried this idea in your charity/ non-profit, it would be good to hear your story.
